What is your job like as a US Army Psychological Operations Specialist?
I am looking for what I should expect to do in this MOS. I have heard about driving the speaker truck around, but I have also heard of doing research/gathering human intel. Personal experiences only please.

Sorry to not be able to speak personally but I went to MOS school with the PSYOP guys. I am a civil affairs specialist and us CA guys and PSYOP guys attend the same AIT, do the same field training in AIT, the only difference being is different classroom instruction. They spend a lot of their time making what they call "products" which are items, posters, labels, or anything useful to get the local populace onto our side of the fight. They participate in humanitarian aid missions with us CA guys a lot and the idea is to get the children onto our side as they are the future of Iraq/Afghanistan so we work hand in hand with them to help facilitate that. They also have more tactical groups which go outside the wire a lot on the active duty side and I have heard they also have a ranger detachment. Active duty PSYOP has to go to jump school too. PSYOP does get deployed fairly often so get ready for that. Once every two or three years I believe just like civil affairs. Again this is just my observations from what I have seen in my MOS school/ Iraq.
