i freaking love … i freaking love ATDI, but i always think of it as cedric and omars teenage riot period, the mars volta on the other hand is an artistic masterpiece, much more mature, musically improved. Still you can catch their juvenile hardcore roots in TMV as well. Ill always be happy and kill myself for those guys as long as they never turn mainstream.
“i guess recently … “i guess recently since i’ve listened closer i’ve been able to hear omar doing arpeggio and jim strumming” I said this a minute ago -_- haha yeah i understand know i can hear omar’s appeggio and jim’s strumming, but i started learning guitar it all just sounded like one sound
@canthinkverywell … @canthinkverywell if you took out the second guitar out of at the drive in songs they wouldn’t be as good, listen to it in stereo then you will understand
the reason u hear 1 … the reason u hear 1 guitar is because the band was tight enough that it only sounded like one. Don’t get me wrong, I think Omar is the better musician of the two, but the band wouldn’t have been what it was without Jim on backing vocals and rhythm guitar. but seriously how can u not hear 2 guitar parts in any of the songs? its always pretty obvious.
yeah i understand … yeah i understand that, but if you just listen to any song from at the drive-in you’ll only hear 1 guitar, i guess recently since i’ve listened closer i’ve been able to hear omar doing arpeggio and jim strumming, but if nobody was able to hear that like i wasnt able to before then what would be the point of 2 guitars, meaning if jim switched to keyboard for this song did anybody really need to pick up a 2nd guitar or was omar good enough by himself? think about it
wow. ignorant much? … wow. ignorant much? 2 guitars at all times, 2 singers too. this one adds cedric on guitar, adds omar on vocals, and jim is on keys instead of guitar.
i never knew that! … i never knew that! actually i can easily tell now, i was barely glancing at the screen when i first saw this, was on the phone lol
cedric and omar … cedric and omar look alike and i cant tell who’s doing the lead vocals, so in this video, i know a lot about at the drive in so yes i know cedric sings, but in this video which one is using the green guitar???
