Scientology: Chilling Propaganda Tape for Parents
A young former Scientologist testifies in court about how he was told to give this propaganda tape to his non-Scientologist parents to convince them of the evils and dangers of the public school system and to allow him to drop out of school to commit himself fully to Scientology. The audio tape played into evidence is absolutely chilling.

Unfortunately, the spiel against public schools is largely true. I attended admin meetings in a K12 system for years where I had to endure things like people bragging about forcing preachers to watch – developed for us in public (pubic?) schools. How tragic.

@TheGilmer
Yeah, …
@TheGilmer
Yeah, my main goal was just to get off of the “all religions are cults” mentality, because statements like that distract from what cults are (and it is one of the reasons why Scientology gets away with things). At the very least I am happy you acknowledge there are good clean ones … but cults really do have defining characteristics. And that’s the only point I wanted to bring across. I couldn’t fit any more characteristics of cults.
@OpenComments I …
@OpenComments I agree, Scientology is extremely up and fits all of those criteria, just as most religious groups do. There are some good, clean ones – don’t get me wrong – but not many.
And that video was a terrible addition to your argument. It was mainly just showing the corruptions of Scientology and Jim Jones’ group and stuff. It’s not at all showing an official report of the necessary qualities of a cult, just common qualities in the worst ones. A few cults are actually clean.
@TheGilmer
The …
@TheGilmer
The problem is, the vast majority of religions don’t fit those criteria. Cult experts deal with the dangers of cults (such as the isolation from family, or being forced to spend life savings). Scientology fits all of those characteristics, as do many specific denominations or bastardization of the major religions.
Did you at the very least watch the video demonstrating what makes a cult a cult?
what the hell!!!!
what the hell!!!!
@OpenComments The …
@OpenComments The vast majority of religious groups fit all of those criteria as well, meaning that the only difference is how accepted it is (e.g. The number of followers) and when enough people like/follow the cult, it’s accepted as a religion. It’s not that big of a deal, it’s just a simple statement. The only difference is popularity.
i find it really …
i find it really funny when a christian says that scientology is a cult…
@TheGilmer

THIS IS …
@TheGilmer
THIS IS THE QUICK DEFINITION OF THE MINDSET WITHIN A CULT (no personal choice allowed):
1) subjugation under stress and fatigue
2) Social disruption, isolation and pressure
3) Self criticism and humiliation
4) Fear, anxiety and paranoia
5) Control of information
6) Escalating commitment
7) Use of auto-hypnosis to induce ‘peak’ experiences
See this video: watch?v=DVQyg-YGuTE
and then decide if “cult” is based on the # of followers (it’s not)

lol im a drop out but that tape made me laugh my off.
@TheGilmer well i …
@TheGilmer well i do not agree with your definition of “cult” or “religion” but i respect your opinion– peace.
@TacticalAngel86 …
@TacticalAngel86 Only difference between ‘cult’ and ‘religion’ is the number of followers. It’s a cult because it’s smaller. Just like the cult of Jesuits. They’re Christians, yet they’re in a cult due to their smaller numbers. It’s all a separation of similar terms, but I do thank you for pointing out my innocent inaccuracy with that statement.
In short: Thanks, my bad.
@TheGilmer …
@TheGilmer scientology isn’t a religion, its an evil cult of the mind.
