What kinds of psychological operations does the US military prisons do on their POWS?

what is the purpose of these , (for example they had a case of a abuse in the past couple of years where a man and woman were responsible for abuse) and were sentenced by a military court. (not sure of the sentences )

but they were stacking muslims on top of each other naked and making them do other things, not sure of what exactly or the full story.

but how does this or what way is this suppose to affect the mind set of the POWS. for what reasons?

how have similar tactics been used before?

how common is this elsehwere?

and again, what is the actual purpose or goal of these? how does it affect the mindset and pscyhology of the POWS after awhile?

to the first answerer, how does humilating them and emotionally decreasing? them or increasing another type of emotion? (i would say it would spark a bit of anger) would affect them mentally?

are they trying to break them down mentally or again what does this do to them for which reasons?

they are aware of information or maybe they dont even recall it?

The whole idea of any torture is to gain inteligence. In the stacking of the people on top of each other this was to discrase then emotionally and to humiliate them as much as possible, these methods are not new to the world of torture at all. Other methods include water boarding which simulates drowning, white noise and sleep deprivation putting the subject in constant stress positions so again they are in pain and can not rest and finally food and water. another method is through phychological methods. I remember when i completed my resistance to interrogation course through armed forces them trying multiple methods. In terms of what they gain these can be useful in getting information but if the people genuinely have nothing to tell all the will get back is useless intelliagnce of no significant value.
