Army: Best MOS to eventually switch to Civil Affairs or PsyOps?
Currently neither of these MOSs are available for Active Duty non-prior service; you have to do your time and be either E-4 or E-5. Anyone know what MOS I should consider to increase my chances of switching over to one of these once I gain enough rank?
I’ll be going in as an E-3.
Engineers, Chemical, Patient Administration Specialist, Medical Supply Specialist , Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic, Machinest, Preventive MedicIne Specialist, Animal Care Specialist, Military Police, and Intelligence Analyst. Is what it is for the reserves or National Guard. They say there is none if your regular army.
With PsyOps the most important thing is getting a 100 on your DLAB.
psyop is definantly an MOS to consider in the long run, its part of specials operations command and its an airborne mos. promotions are very good and its a job to hold your head high in, the only negative part about it is that the only duty station is ft. bragg but in the long run its worth it you work with all of us the special forces, 75th ranger, and its all around a big mos in the army

you should ask for an airborne assignment while in basic or ait
if you havent put it in your contract already
since you will have to be airborne in either one anyways
might as well get it out of the way
that and pick a mos w/ secret clearance cause you will need that too
once you have those two pick the mos with the lowest cutoff scores to make your 5. that should help narrow it down some

Had a bilateral mastectomy 7 mos ago, with tissue expansion in prep. for tomorrows insertion of implants. The “fill ups” were weekly until 650 cc's. Felt like I was all breasts!! How did your surgery for implants go? I'm excited to get finished up, but hope it won't be as uncomfortable to live with as the expanders. It's been an uncomfortable 7 mos.

The EasyOff by ReiTech (www.reitech.com/products/controls.asp) is DA BOMB. I've had it on my Delta Contractors saw for about 8 years now, and I can't imagine a better switch. Just a bump with the knee and OFF goes the saw. Unlike a smaller paddle switch, I don't have ot remove a hand from the workpiece. When I change the blade, I turn the saw off at the Easy Off, switch off the old power switch, lockout the EasyOff, and then unplug the saw.

This is also goes for pronunciation of names. All my life my English name has been Damaris Ramos (pronounced RAY-MOS). A cpl years ago someone asked me why Ray-mos and not Rah-mos??? And the best I could come up with was “idk, that's how all my non-Spanish speaking teachers pronounced it and I let it be. So last year at internship I introduced myself as Rah-mos and this year at work I'm also Rah-mos. It's hard, I slip sometimes, and let others slide, and sometimes I miss hearing Ray-mos, but you said it JoSelyn… that's not my name.

If someone is married via Civil Marriage outside of the country and they are not citizens of my country, it is fine. But if I went outside and had a civil marriage and came back, I would be in an illegal, unrecognized marriage, and any kids would be considered illegitimate. Most Muslim countries do not recognize Civil marriages, because they are ruled by the Sharia law.

i think this is supremely important to the question. you see, many in the west believe that “civil” means democratic. many in the east believe “civil” means ancient heritage. so what really defines “civil”??
personally, i think civil has less to do with political functions or programs, and much more to do with how the nations' people treat one another. if each man treats his neighbor with respect, then that, in my opinion, is “civil”.

This switch works by the caliper of the Avid BB7 brake moving the attached magnet closer to the Normally Open [NO] Reed Switch. Once the magnetic field is in proximity of the switch, the metal plates therein close, completing the circuit and the lights are turned on.
