Can i get a secret clearance with bad credit and getting fired for stealing?
Im joining the army soon. I want to be psyops(37F) but that job requires a secret clearance. I have bad credit, roughly $2,000 which i intend to pay back asap now that i will have a steady job. Also, i recently got fired for stealing from a job. Not big buxs but about $300 over 7 months. What are my chances of getting the clearance required?
The stealing from your employer will probably disqualify you from ever getting a clearance. This will be seen as a ‘betrayal of trust’ issue regarding your character, and nobody is going to be willing to accept the risk of trusting you with classified information.

none.

You shouldn’t have any problems with a Secret clearance. You might if it’s anything higher than this, though.
I got a Secret clearance with no credit, a shoplifting conviction, and admitted drug use (marijuana, opium, and LSD).

They are not taking waivers at the moment. So if you need a waiver I say it will be a no go, but you can still try.
the credit thing you should be fine with if you intend to pay back.
the stealing though i don’t honestly know what to say on that.
