I didn't mind “Love, Actually” because it was much more of a complex movie than the normal romantic comedy. This was a film with a lot of different kinds of storylines. It wasn't “Two Weeks Notice” or “Failure to Launch,” but it was closer to a social commentary. Some of the storylines were funny because of the absurdity or love-sick 12-year-old boy. Some are sad, like the man with a mistress or man whose wife passed away, leaving him with afore mentioned 12-year-old boy. This complexity adds to a movie, but is not found in “10 Things I Hate about You.”

Inconsistent is a good word – at times its social commentary, at times its a normal show with characters and storylines that are fun to watch or boring (i.e. Pimp Named Slickback). I'll admit I'd love to see more of Jazzmine esp. since in the comic strips she was good.
The Tyler Perry episode said a lot of what we're thinking. I like Madea at times (and think Perry's positive messages/religious theme are an underrated skill) but I hate the singing, predictable storylines and for the most part bad acting. But was it any worse than them going at BET. Aside from the homosexual part at the end, no. Spike Lee has said the same thing about Perry

The first noble truth – all life is suffering. Coming to some understanding of that suffering is our goal. I think you are doing a good job of imparting that understanding to your babies. I was Rosalyn's age when my folks split. They never helped me understand it. I understand it now, through sheer force of will. And I'm okay with it now. I'd have been more okay with it then too, probably, with more understanding.
