Ruth Ginsburg admitted the supreme court legalized abortions to limit the number of birth from "UN-WANTED" members of society ( Blacks).

Our new Green jobs czar wants to put steralant in the drinking water to control the population growth. Read his book i'm not making this up.

Welfare and Medicaid

Don't even get me started on the Social Engineering of the Great Depression. FDR burning American crops and slaughtering American pork to artificially raise the world price.

But the Army no. the Military is one of the few honorable ways to over come your modest beginnings.
References :
You're connecting dots that don't necessarily go together. For instance, your first line: "Ever since America went to a volunteer armed forces system, jobs have been leaving the country in droves." Those two things may be concurrent, but how are they cause-and-effect?

True, the military offers a lot of incentives these days, but being shot at in Afghanistan or blown up in Iraq is a definite disincentive> The Army has to advertise a lot and offer a lot of perks to get new recruits.

And your assertion that the military ". . . contributes nothing for the American economy, but rather takes," is definitely wrong. The military is a HUGE factor in the economy through defense contracts and production of planes, tanks, ships, arms, ordinance, etc. It's also an important means of distributing money to certain communities.

I applaud you original thinking, but you need to dig a little deeper to make you case.
References :
As an Army Alumnus, I disagree because the military is a legitimate government expense. The politicians utilizes the military the wrong way.

Don't forget, it is the military that has given you the right to ask your question without being beheaded. Sure, military doesn't contribute to the economy but without it, there would be no economy. It's like auto insurance, you pay and pay and usually recieve nothing, but when you need it...you really need it.
References :
Obviously, you have never been in the military. yes, they get allowances but their base pay is practically at poverty level.
So a soldier spending his pay check doesn't contribute anything to the economy? You need a lesson in econ 101.
Some soldiers do join the military because it might be their only option. But a lot more join because they WANT to serve their country. That''s a concept that might be foreign to you.
Jobs are leaving this country because the labor unions have destroyed them and they can get better tax deals in other countries.
References :
No... because there is nothing underhanded about it. Been going on for decades. The best way to have control over someone is to make them dependent on you. Eventually absolute dependence gives absolute control.
