It seems the H1N1 propaganda is everywhere! Here is a little “Propaganda Techniques 101″ that the local news articles inspired me to make.
Please see the original Council on Foreign Relations podcast in which they plan to fake a swine flu vaccine shortage in order to get people to want to take the shots, of which they admit there is no actual shortage. And they’re laughing about it! “Ha ha ha, the broad masses are such fools. Adult children, they are. How shall we trick them into taking their medicine?”

The Barrow-Tippler Fallacy (also False Lottery) is the assessment of probability (after the fact of a determined outcome) for which the sample size is one. It is named for John Barrow and Frank Tipler, co-authors of The Anthropic Cosmological Principle, in which they argue that the precise conditions of the Universe (characterised by apparently fundamental parameters such as physical constants) are highly improbable and indicative of the Weak Anthropic Principle (WAP).
A false lottery is the opposite of a true lottery, where the number of outcomes is known. For example, the probability of rolling a double-six on a pair of dice can be meaningfully assessed, because all six sides of both dice present real, possible outcomes. By contrast, there is no evidence that an electron or proton with a different mass is a real, possible outcome during the earliest moments of the Universe. Furthermore, there is no evidence one way or the other that these supposedly “finely tuned” values were determined at any given time, or whether they are derived from an as yet unfathomable structure.
Use of this fallacy to construct Fine Tuning Arguments is popular among apologists for special creation.

Funded and approved by the US Department of Treasury in 1943, this Disney featurette was to encourage every good American to do his “duty” and pay his taxes, which, at this time, were at an all time high. Those who do not wish to pay or don’t pay it gladly are depicted as friends of Hitler and enemies of liberty and democracy.
Contrary to what has been stated on other posts of this film, it was never “banned” by anyone. Not only was it approved by the Treasury Secretary, it received an Academy Award nomination for “Best Documentary Feature.” Even President Roosevelt himself had a hand in approving Donald Duck as the main character.

Here’s some vintage USSR Propaganda showing us how they extinguished a gas leak fire. The same technique could be used for the oil leak in the gulf.
The Russians used nukes to put out fires like this a total of 5 times.

League of Reason, established 2009, is a multi-author blog written by a collection of Youtubes most popular freethinkers. Their aims are to promote reason, critical thinking and the public understanding of science, as well as taking a stand against censorship; particularly by religiously motivated individuals and organisations.
Initially, the site was set up as a discussion forum to combat a plague of censorship against freethinkers, orchestrated by a number of religious Youtube users. Their tactics included the employment of votebots (software designed to autonomously lower the ratings of videos) and the filing of false DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) claims in an effort to have critical material removed from the site.
The forum proved to be a successful and popular resource, not only for fighting censorship, but also for the discussion of a wide variety of topics. It flourished into a strong community for like-minded people all over the world.
Today, the League of Reason community continues to grow, as does the excellent team of committed contributors. Together we endeavour to protect and promote the voice of reason, and you are welcome to join.

When the Taliban controlled Afghanistan before the 2001 invasion, entertainment of any kind was banned. But ironically, in their attempt to regain control of the country, their Propaganda is now being disseminated using television, videos and music. And as Hamish Macdonald reports, tapes like those received by Al Jazeera can be quite revealing.
This conflict is largely viewed from the side of Nato and US forces. Media access is regularly granted and journalists often travel to the frontline. Rarely though do we see these battles from the other side. The Taliban, in an apparent attempt to display its resurgence has delivered 14 tapes to Al Jazeera. We cannot be certain when or where these images were filmed.
Among the footage are attacks on Afghan police vehicles. The tape shows one person trying to escape, before being shot. The cars are then set alight. Another tape shows Taliban fighters proudly displaying what they discovered last year at an empty US military out-post. They appear particularly intrigued by the night-vision goggles.
Waheed Mozhdah, former Taliban foreign ministry adviser, said: “The Taliban like to show powerful himself and show the enemy weak. I don’t know how much the people believe that in the villages.”
The Taliban carried out a month-long campaign of suicide bombings and roadside attacks during Ramadan. These tapes demonstrate some of the techniques being used.
Nato and US led coalition forces here say they have made major gains against the enemy during recent months. The Taliban though claims its securing support in a growing number of provinces. But with so much propaganda being disseminated from all sides, its difficult for anyone here to know just how much of it is true.
One tape, showing Taliban pushing live donkeys off cliff, provides an insight into the mindset of those fighting this conflict.
And from the US side as well. These images from a Dutch television documentary were among the tapes sent to us by the Taliban.
The desire to gain the psychological advantage has meant that armed groups here and across the Middle East have now embraced propaganda in a big way. On all sides of the Afghan conflict there is an awareness that while the battles are important, the message may help win the war.
